Doesn’t Get Easier Than This Roast Turkey

Lemon Pepper Turkey 227 Calories (4 pts)

This week, I came across and tested what’s probably the easiest recipe I’ve made in a very long time:  Lemon Pepper Roast Turkey Breast.   And, what’s even better about it is:

  • you only need to use 4 ingredients
  • the dish gets thrown together in less than 5 minutes and goes in the crockpot
  • it’s not only low maintenance but it’s low-calorie and a great source of lean protein
  • the left overs can be used during the week to make a number of other lunches and dinners
    • sandwiches
    • stir frys
    • wraps
    • pasta dishes

Nutritional Facts:

  • Servings -          10-12
  • Calories  -           227 for 5 ounces and 2 Tbsp of gravy
  • Total Fat –          1.3 g
  • Fiber -                 0.1g

The Ingredients:

  •  3-4 lb bone-in turkey breast (like Shadybrook Farms), thawed or fresh
  • 1 Tbsp Onion Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Flour

Making the Dish:

  1.  Rinse Turkey Breast with water and pat dry
  2. Season generously with onion salt and lemon pepper
  3. Place in Crockpot breast (skin-side) down and cook on high for 1 hour
  4. Reduce Crockpot temperature to low and continue cooking for 5-6 hours
  5. Remove turkey from slow cooker and bring juices to a boil
  6. Mix flour & 1-2 tbsp of water & whisk into drippings to make gravy
  7. Serve turkey and gravy

The end result is a super juicy, turkey breast that can be served up with all of your favorite fixings.  You’ll have a tasty feast for your family with less than 10 minutes of total prep time.  It doesn’t get better than this.  Mangia and Enjoy.
