Fitness Challenge – Pilates DVD # 8 Results

Earlier this year, Prevention Magazine released their 10 Best DVD Workouts list.  Not having tried any of the DVDs before, I thought what better way to put them to the test than to personally give them all a shot so I could tell you about them

To date, the list of DVDs to be put through the paces includes Leslie Sansone’s Walk at Home 3 Mile Slim & Sleek WalkDenise Austin’s 3 Week Boot Camp, Jazzercise Dancin’ Abs, 10 Minute Solution 5 Day Get Fit MixBootcamp Boogie, Barefoot Cardio, and Personal Training with Jackie

Recently, my attention turned toSlim and  Tone Pilates

This DVD workout includes a 30 min program focused on slimming, toning and working out your entire body using the principles of yoga and pilates to do it.

Here are a few highlights from the program:

  • The instructor is very skilled and takes you through a full-body introduction to pilates while maintaining her stamina throughout the routine.
  • This DVD is not for those just beginning an exercise regimen.  Through the various movements and body positions, your muscles, flexibility and coordination abilities will definitely be put to the test.  (And – you’ll begin breaking a sweat shortly into it)
  • After a couple weeks of this program when you begin to get comfortable, it’ll definitely lead to greater core strength, flexibility, slimming/toning, muscle definition and increased stamina.  It’s a full body, well-rounded workout like you haven’t seen if you’ve never done pilates.
  • Out of the total DVDs tested to date, this is last on my list simply due to skill requirement.  However, as I become more proficient, I expect that I’ll use this more often to drive body results.
