Featured Product: Barney Crunchy Almond Butter
In my quest to improve the quality of foods that are coming into my house, I’ve been shopping in stores that carry more natural / organic items and have made an effort to find healthier versions of foods I typically enjoy.
On a recent outing, I stumbled upon Barney’s Almond Butter. At first, I hesitated to pick it up thinking it really couldn’t be much different from peanut butter but then I decided to give it a try.
I’m so glad that I did. The crunchy version has now become my all-time favorite butter of choice when making sandwiches with jelly or when wanting a dollop on fruits and veggies (bananas, apples, and celery make great pairings). In fact, I eat more of them because of it.
This almond butter is produced in a peanut-free environment (for those that are concerned about peanut allergies) and has only four natural ingredients – almonds, cane juice, palm fruit oil, and sea salt.
Plus, the nutritional facts are similar to any other peanut butter serving (2 TBSPs):
- Calories – 180
- Total Fat – 15 g
- Total Fiber - 3 g
- WW – 4 points
This product can be found either at local grocery stores like Market Basket or is available for purchase online via Amazon.com. If you haven’t ever deviated from your standard peanut butter option, I suggest giving Barney’s Almond Butter a taste. Odds are you’ll really take to it. Mangia and enjoy.
