Can’t Weight to Lose the Last 15 Pounds
Some of you may or may not know that about 2 years ago I started on a journey to change my life – to do what was needed to make it better.
In February 2010, I was down 100 lbs and had a lot to say about it in my 100 lb salute post. Since that point, I’ve continued to focus on health, fitness and nutrition and have been able to make some ground towards my end goal – falling within the BMI range for my height.
As a result of all of this, I’ve become a new person. I feel stronger. I look for and seize opportunities. And, I aspire to love and live life to its fullest.
Of course, there have been times when I’ve struggled but continued to maintain my weight. And there were other times where I renewed my commitment to myself and decided I was going to make it through the final stretch of the race.
Today, I find myself here. Having come from this starting point in 2008:

…through making solid progress in 2009……

..while making a few stops along the way (see photo diary)…
….in order to get to a place that’s been really comfortable the past few months.

But now, it’s time to move beyond this place where I’ve been maintaining and comfortable to a point where I can savor the success of achieving my goal. I only need 10 lbs to hit the top end of my BMI range, but I’ve decided to shoot for a 15lb weight loss by the end of January. It’s absolutely doable in a healthy way which is important to me. And once I get there, I can determine if it’s the right weight for me to maintain for the rest of my life – which I mean to do.
I’m using this post to put my intent ‘officially’ out there and to get myself going on tackling this goal. As always, thanks for reading and your support. See you on the other side.

Hey Thanks for sharing your story. You have come so far and I think it is so amazing!!!! I know you will lose the final 15 because you have done so well so far.
Thanks for keeping me inspired
I love progression photo posts
Wow you’ve come a long way, you’re doing amazing. You look incredible too!!! Your hard work has really paid off. Judging by this post, I’m pretty sure you can do anything you put your mind to.
I am in the same “dig in for the final push” phase, and know just how hard it can be to do. Keep at it and I am sure you will have continued success.
Thanks Brad. That’s what I’m thinking too. Keep on doing all the right things and eventually I’ll get there. I’ve come too far to not wait this out. Best of luck with hitting your goal. I’ll be rooting for ya.
Di your journey is so inspiring! You have come so far! I’m sure that you will achieve your next goals. I know you can do it!
Thanks Jamie!
You’ve done such a great job and you look absolutely fantastic! It takes a lot of strength and courage to decide to change your life and you definitely have a ton of both. I know you’ll be able to achieve you’re goal of 15 more pounds and if it’s the right weight for you, you’ll definitely know.
Why thank you, Ayla. I appreciate the kind words and vote of confidence.
I had no idea that you were on this journey. How wonderful you must feel and you look FAB!!! The last bit is always the hardest, but I like to break it into smaller chunks of 1-2 lbs by Dec, rather than 10 lbs by March or something.
Keep at it!
Thanks, Shanna! I feel like a completely different person – and a happier one at that.
Good advice on breaking up the goals.
You look awesome. You are truly inspirational to the entire blogging world and I’m sure everyone you meet.
