Cranberry Apple Butter Glazed Pork on Mashed Pumpkin & Apple

Howdy Folks! It’s that time again – when I share my recent tasty treat finds with you. And, this time around, I have a few season-appropriate items to be excited about covering.

First up, Trader Joe’s Spiced Cider:

This tastes exactly like hot, mulled apple cider with all the citrus & spices but in a cold version. You can drink it as-is or heat it up if you prefer the warmer variety. This 100% juice has 120 calories, 0 g fat, 0 g fiber, 30 g of sugar per 8 oz cup and is 2 pts per serving. It’s the ideal drink to quench your thirst or to have a warm cup of when you’re sitting by the fire.

Next on my list, Trader Joe’s Cranberry Apple Butter. It doesn’t get more season-appropriate than this, right? This is a great tangy & sweet spread for topping your toast or for any of your favorite breads/muffins. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even use it as a glaze for pork chops (see picture) or any other proteins. Mmm…can you say taste of fall? One Tbsp of this butter has 20 calories, 0 g fat, <1 g fiber, and 4g of sugar and is .5 pts per serving. The sweet and tart tastes from this spread are perfect for balancing out your savory snacks or dishes

Finally, we know I’ve been on a pancake kick. (I’m seeking recovery on this habit). On my travels to a local whole foods store, I discovered Nature’s Path Organic Buttermilk Pancake Mix. Del-ic –ious & Nu-tri-tious.

I’ve been using this mix to whip up some yummy pancake variations recently. But don’t take my word for it..here are a few:

Lots of pumpkin, bourbon vanilla extract, almond milk, and unsweetened cocoa powder were used (but unharmed) in the creation of these goodies. And now, I’m seriously moving on to other breakfast options. Promise. J

mmmm, I love Trader Joe’s. I do 98% of my shopping there weekly.

I drink the cranberry apple juice which is right next to the apple cider. I may just need to pick up the apple cider this time around.

I found carbquick on netrition.com and I have been obsessed ever since. It is quite delicious and for 1/3 cup has 90 calories and 14 grams of protein. Your body gets a bit of getting used too after having it-but I really like the flavor and texture of it as well. Another great flour mix. Although fiber one pancake mix is still my favorite. :)
